About This Course

This Beginner Photography Course is designed for photography beginners and is suitable for both teens and adults who want to take their photography a step further.

 

The course starts with a strong foundation in photography fundamentals, followed by sessions dedicated to different photography genres. Each genre-based session includes practical, time for capturing photos related to the topic.

 

Session 8 will be a practical session held outdoors.

 

The language of instruction for this course is in Maltese, with the exception for English technical terminology.

Format: Theory + Practical sessions

 

Course Structure:

Sessions 1–3: Photography fundamentals.
Sessions 4–7: Genre-based photography with practical shooting incorporating theory structure based implementation.
Session 8: Outdoor practical session (Saturday morning, weather permitting)
Session 9: Artistic photography, practical work, and certificate presentation.

Material Requirements

  • A DSLR camera or mirrorless camera with manual controls is required from Session 2 till Session 9. (smartphones are not recommended). Information on cameras, lenses, and equipment will be provided during Session 1, therefore a camera may be acquired by the students’ decision after the first session.

 

  • An email account for communication and for receiving and sending course materials with attachments..

 

 

Others

Budding Artists Malta reserves the right to withdraw the course one week prior commencement of course. In this case, an opportunity for a full refund, rescheduling, or transferring credits to an alternative course will be given.

Tax Deduction on Fees Paid for Cultural and Creative Courses

Parents of children under 16 who participated in any Cultural or Creative courses are eligible to apply for a tax deduction of up to €300 per child.

Budding Artists is a licensed educational entity and recognised by Arts Council Malta, allowing parents to claim a deduction of up to €300 per child against their chargeable income.

Starting from courses attended in 2024, Budding Artists will handle the application process on your behalf with your approval.
