About our Summer Camp

Budding Artists Summer Camp is bursting with 𝔸ℝ𝕋- that is exploring ART through diverse techniques and material, and delving inside the realms of History of Art and significant artists.

This journey will be seasoned with cultural educational Outings. The aim is for young art enthusiasts to learn, explore and also draw from observation. Such visits will include, among others, the National ART Museum- MUŻA and Plein-Air drawing.

Summer Camp Details

Ages: 7–11 years
(Both ages included. Students who will be turning 7 later this year are also eligible).

Days: Options of one day, two days, or three days per week
(Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Late dismissal is available at 12:30 p.m. for an additional €5 per day.

Dates: From July 13th until September 4th (running for seven weeks)

July: week starting 13th, 20th and 27th

August: week starting 3rd, 17th, 24th and 31st

 

Please note: Studio will be closed from August 10th until 16th for the Santa Maria break.

 

Summer Camp Fees

One day per week: €240

Two days per week: €450

Three days per week: €650

 

Late dismissal fee: €5 per day

Sibling Rate: 10% discount per sibling (material fee not included).

 

Outings

Transport fees are not included in the above prices and will be charged accordingly. Students receive free entry to venues owned by Heritage Malta. Please ensure your child has a valid Heritage Malta Card.

 

Tax Rebate

Given Budding Artists is a licensed entity by the DQSE, fees are eligible for a tax rebate. Further information will be provided by the end of the year. In the meantime, please keep all invoices which are received upon applying through website. Invoices are always received on the given email address.

 

Art Supplies

Specific materials such as canvases, clay, glaze paints, resin, pigments, Plaster of Paris, glass paints, and PVA glue are included in the summer camp fee. However, students are required to bring basic art supplies. These include paints, brushes, drawing books, pencil sets, oil pastels, and other items as listed in the Materials Section below.

 

Outings and Art Projects

Outings and art projects will vary to ensure that students attending one, two, or three days per week experience a wide range of activities. Please note that only students attending three days per week will participate in all art projects, as these are not repeated.

Students attending one or two days who wish to join outings scheduled on different days may do so at an additional charge. This will be communicated accordingly and is subject to availability.

 

Uniform

Tabard/ Apron: All students should have the Budding Artists Tabard/Apron. This is compulsory for all students, and is purchased from the Studio at €30

T-Shirt: A Budding Artists T-Shirt will be given as complimentary, which students are asked to wear for Summer Camp.

 

Important Information

Please respect punctuality for both drop-off and pick-up.

All students must have their own wipes, tissues, sanitiser, lunch, a snack, and a bottle of drinking water.

The kitchenette is fully equipped for heating and cooling meals.

Art Supplies List

Paint Brushes

An assortment of paintbrushes (either as an assorted pack OR individual as follows: FLAT: size 16, 14, 10, 8; POINTED: size 6)

Ready Stationary

  • Sharpener
  • Rubber
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Black permanent double-pointed pen (double-pointed with a fine tip and a thicker tip on each end)
  • Set of coloured markers (12 or more)

Other Tools

  • Small box of willow charcoal sticks
  • Putty rubber
  • Blending tools (assorted sizes)
  • Set of 12 oil pastels
  • Set of 12 chalk/soft pastels (whole or half stubs)

Drawing Books

  • Drawing book A4 regular
  • Drawing book A3 regular
  • Hard-backed Art Journal (A5 size- stapled or spiral)

Pencils

  • Pencils (a set ranging from HB to 8B)
  • Aquarelle pencils (water-soluble pencils – set of 24 or more)
  • Pencil colours of artist quality (set of 24 or more)

Paint

  • Acrylic paints (set of 12 or more, or individual in: black, white, red, blue, yellow, cyan, light green, magenta, orange, dark umber, and red ochre)
  • Set of watercolours (set of 12 or more, either as tubes, individual pans, or a whole palette)
