During this course, students will be:

• Prepared to sit for their MATSEC Art O-Level (both for students who have Art option at school, and also those who will be sitting as private candidates.)
  

• Supported to build and compile their own coursework, which they will need to submit as part of their O-level.

• Guided as they work on their project, as part of their O-Level. They will be helped to choose an appropriate subject which they feel comfortable working in, both as a theme and as a composition.

• Expected to practise at home in order to strengthen the skills they have acquired in class. This will highly reflect in their coursework, project and general artistic skills. This work will be brought to be given feedback from tutor.

• Keep having the opportunity to explore and experiment with different media and surfaces.

• Enhance their artistic concepts, including: the colour wheel, primary and secondary colours, complimentary colours, colour tones, blending, light and shadow, proportion, juxtaposition and shape and form.

• Grow familiar with different artists and different movements of art, such as Renaissance, Baroque, Impressionism and Modern Art. Reproductions of existing artwork are not allowed to be handed in as part of the O-Level portfolio. Thus, students will be encouraged to produce authentic artwork by researching, and then producing sketches and personal written anecdotes inspired by different works of art.
